While it might seem pretty standard to see your dentist every six months for checkups and to visit your doctor annually, it might not seem as commonplace to see a chiropractor. While pain is often a good indicator that it might be time to schedule an appointment, there are a host of other benefits that come with seeing your chiropractor (you may not even know about them yet!). We are here to tell you about how chiropractic care can do more than just alleviate pain (which is also important!):

A Chirporactic Adjustment reduces stress

Everyone could use a little less stress in their lives, right? By achieving a better balance, and making it easier for people to exercise, patients are better able to reduce anxiety and depression-related symptoms. While we don’t treat depression, research has show that spinal adjustments can actually increase endorphins (these are the chemicals that make you happy!). Plus, not having to deal with constant pain can certainly take a load off.


It boosts your immunity

If you’re getting regular chiropractic care, you may also be getting a boost to your immune system, as well. That’s because the nervous system and your immune system work together to help your body adapt and heal. When your body is out of alignment, it can negatively impact your immune response. In turn, spinal adjustments give your immunity the balance it needs to ward off infections.

It improves your sleep

Sleep provides us with a lot of wonderful benefits. Besides giving our body some rest and the chance to heal, it also increases or immunity. However, if you have chronic pain, sleeping can be a challenge. Again, if the nervous system isn’t functioning properly, this can lead to a whole list of health problems including insomnia. Chiropractic care can realign the bones in your spine to give you some much-needed R&R.

Chiropractic care keeps you active

If you’re not experiencing pain, it’s amazing how much easier physical activity can be. So it seems only natural that if you’re moving comfortably and without pain, then you’re more likely to stick to your exercise regime. If your physical function has improved, then you are more likely to enjoy being active (again, who doesn’t want an endorphin boost?).

It boosts productivity

If you’re someone who constantly feels aches and pains while sitting at your desk each day, chiropractic care can help. Most office chairs are not ergonomic and can cause chronic lower back problems. In turn, these problems can cause an increase in work absences; however, we can properly treat your lower back problems with spinal alignment. In fact, studies have found that those on workers compensation for lower back pain experienced less pain and immobility when they received spinal adjustment than those who didn’t.
